Frequently-Asked Questions
I am getting a pink flash signal on my UPAS instead of a solid pink light at start-up.
This is a minor issue that happens occasionally. The best thing to do is take your device outside in a safe space with a clear view of the sky. The pink flash should convert to solid pink once the device has refreshed its GPS satellite data. In dense urban settings this could take up to 30 minutes but usually only a few minutes is required. Once solid pink you may proceed to bluetooth pairing and programming the device. Watch a video of what to expect.

How do I update UPAS firmware using Mac OS14?
Os14 is causing a small issue in flashing firmware updates to UPAS products. See this YouTube video for an easy procedure to flash the latest firmware to your devices.
Can I use your products with a back up battery to extend run times?
Yes you can. We have specific suggestions for battery packs that work well with the UPAS. Please review the User Guide for the specific UPAS model that you are using for more information.
Can the UPAS be used outdoors?
The UPAS is meant for indoor use but we have an outdoor enclosure accessory that will allow you use the UPAS outside.
Can I adjust the UPAS flow rate?
Yes! You can do all that in the app used to program the hardware. You can even run a flow check using a flow primary before you deploy and afterwards if your protocol requires it. Apps are amazing!
How often should I check the flow rate and perform maintenance?
For compliance measurement settings you should follow common protocols such as flow testing before and after sampling in the workplace. For epidemiology research our customers choose many different flow check intervals. We see very little long term drift so we recommend choosing a flow calibration interval that balances your resources (equipment, team, training levels) with your need to have flow rate data corroborated with flow primaries.
