Our Outdoor Enclosure will protect your UPAS from the elements and make it easy to connect an external power source! This enclosure can house any UPAS model: [v2.0](https://www.accsensors.com/upasv2.0?hsLang=en), [v2.1](https://www.accsensors.com/upasv2.1?hsLang=en), or [v2.1 PLUS](https://www.accsensors.com/upasv2.1plus?hsLang=en). Have line power at your site? The enclosure features a weatherproof port that allows you to plug the UPAS into a standard 110 V electrical outlet via a 5 V DC power adapter. In this configuration, the UPAS still runs off the internal battery, but the battery will charge as needed to keep the UPAS powered continuously. No line power? UPAS battery life can be extended by connecting an always-on external battery pack and, optionally, a solar panel. The UPAS Outdoor Enclosure is compatible with the [Voltaic 25 Watt CORE Solar Power System](https://voltaicsystems.com/25-watt-core/) (sold separately by Voltaic and their distributors) as well as some of Voltaic's older external battery pack and solar panel models. Sampling in hot weather? If you plan to sample in an environment where temperatures will exceed 35 °C, ask us about replacing the standard UPAS internal battery with a one that charge at battery temperatures ranging from 0 to 60 °C. Still too hot? We can install a secondary exhaust fan inside the enclosure to provide additional convective cooling. ## Specifications | Exterior size | 220 mm × 108 mm × 81 mm (without mounting bracket) | | --- | --- | | Weight | 770 g (without UPAS, external battery, or solar panel) | | Power options | Line, battery, or solar | | External battery and solar panel options | Voltaic Systems 25 Watt CORE Solar Power System; Voltaic Systems V25 (23 W-h), V50 (47 W-h), or V75 (71 W-h) batteries **sold before November 2025**; Voltaic Systems P105 (5 W), P110 (10 W), or P120 (20 W) solar panels; all sold separately by Voltaic Systems | | Compatible UPAS | UPAS v2.0, UPAS v2.1, and UPAS v2.1 PLUS |   ## Technical Resources [![ProductInfoSheet\_OutdoorEnclosure](https://www.accsensors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/ProductInfoSheet_OutdoorEnclosure.png?width=750&height=1000&name=ProductInfoSheet_OutdoorEnclosure.png "ProductInfoSheet_OutdoorEnclosure")](https://www.accsensors.com/hubfs/Product%20Info%20Sheets/AST-UPAS-Outdoor-Enclosure-Product%20Info%20Sheet.pdf?hsLang=en) ### Product Information Sheet UPAS Outdoor Enclosure specifications, revision 1.4, released May 2026 [Download PDF](https://www.accsensors.com/hubfs/Product%20Info%20Sheets/AST-UPAS-Outdoor-Enclosure-Product%20Info%20Sheet.pdf?hsLang=en) [![Screenshot of UPAS Outdoor Enclosure User Guide cover page](https://www.accsensors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/UserGuide_OutdoorEnclosure.png?width=750&height=1000&name=UserGuide_OutdoorEnclosure.png "Screenshot of UPAS Outdoor Enclosure User Guide cover page")](https://www.accsensors.com/hubfs/User%20Guides/AST_UPAS%20Outdoor%20Enclosure_UserGuide.pdf?hsLang=en) ### User Guide UPAS Outdoor Enclosure User Guide, revision 1.0, released June 2025 [Download PDF](https://www.accsensors.com/hubfs/User%20Guides/AST_UPAS%20Outdoor%20Enclosure_UserGuide.pdf?hsLang=en) [![Screenshot of "Outdoor monitoring" folder in public UPAS Zotero library](https://www.accsensors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/UPAS_Zotero_Outdoors.png?width=750&height=1000&name=UPAS_Zotero_Outdoors.png "Screenshot of \"Outdoor monitoring\" folder in public UPAS Zotero library")](https://www.zotero.org/groups/2613564/upas/collections/8GFIRXUR) ### UPAS Zotero Library A library of studies in which UPAS were used outdoors [Link to public Zotero library](https://www.zotero.org/groups/2613564/upas/collections/8GFIRXUR) ## Related Blog Posts ![hut\_img1](https://www.accsensors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/hut_img1.jpeg?width=300&height=225&name=hut_img1.jpeg "hut_img1") [Measuring Indoor Air Pollution on a Hut Trip with the UPAS v2.1 PLUS](https://www.accsensors.com/from-the-access-sensor-tech-team/measuring-indoor-air-pollution-on-a-hut-trip-with-the-upas-v2?hsLang=en)         # Recent related blog posts [![](https://www.accsensors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Blog_OutdoorSampling_CoverPhoto-1.jpg?height=200&name=Blog_OutdoorSampling_CoverPhoto-1.jpg)](https://www.accsensors.com/blog/participant-initiated-sampling?hsLang=en) ## [Participant-initiated sampling in California's Central Valley](https://www.accsensors.com/blog/participant-initiated-sampling?hsLang=en) ![Picture of Jessica Tryner](https://www.accsensors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/JT_20250309_square.jpeg?width=50&name=JT_20250309_square.jpeg) [Jessica Tryner](https://www.accsensors.com/blog/author/jessica-tryner?hsLang=en) Oct 18, 2024, 9:19:08 AM [Read more](https://www.accsensors.com/blog/participant-initiated-sampling?hsLang=en) ## Pricing Our product pricing for customers based in the United States is shown below.
